Malvani Fish Curry Recipe
Ingredients:
• 500 gms fish (any variety)
• 1/2 cup coconut (grated)
• 2-3 green chillies (slit)
• 2 tsp coriander (dhania) seeds
• 1 tsp cumin (jeera) seeds
• 1/4 tsp turmeric (haldi) powder
• 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
• 2 tbsp oil
• Salt to taste
• 4-5 curry leaves
• 1 onion (finely chopped)
Instructions:
1. Clean and wash the fish and keep aside.
2. In a blender, add the grated coconut, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, green chillies, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala.
3. Blend the ingredients to a fine paste, adding some water if necessary.
4. Heat oil in a pan, add the curry leaves, onion and sauté for a few minutes.
5. Add the ground masala paste and fry for 5-6 minutes.
6. Add 1 cup of water and bring it to a boil.
7. Add the fish pieces, salt to taste and simmer the curry for 10-15 minutes.
8. Serve hot with steamed rice.
